Mead Recipe
This recipe for home-made alcohol idormele is simple and quick to prepare.
The mead is the oldest fermented drink ever produced by the Celts who call it "mead", it was consumed abundantly in weddings because it was believed to stimulate virility and fertility.
The recipe is very simple:
Recipe for 5 liters:
3kg of honey
2 liters of water
Mead yeast or WLP Sweet mead
Method:
Take a pot and pour 2 liters of water and heat it up to about 80 degrees (before boiling), add the honey and keep the temperature for about 15-20 min. Leave to rest until the mixture cools until it reaches about 25-30 degrees.
Then pour into the fermenter or a glass lady, inoculate the yeast and leave to ferment for 3-4 weeks at about 18-24 degrees. After this period, pour into a previously sanitized bottle and let it mature for 3-5 months.
After this period, bottle it without adding anything else and wait for another 3-5 months of aging in the bottle.
